Cheese Tortellini with Brussels Sprouts & Bacon

This easy recipe is inspired by Martha Stewart. It wouldn't have occurred to me to add brussels sprouts to pasta but it's a great combination. If you keep some fresh or frozen tortellini on hand, it's simple to whip it up any time.

How Brussels Sprouts Grow
Usually when you buy Brussels sprouts in the grocery store, they are sold as individual sprouts in a bin or packaged in a bag (or even frozen). But have you ever seen how they grow?
If you're lucky, you might find a Brussels sprout stalk for sale at a farmers market this time of year.

Roasted Brussels Sprouts
A lovely side dish for beef, chicken or turkey. I like these Brussels sprouts brown & crispy on the outside.
Slice the sprouts in half and season with salt, pepper and olive oil.
Roast in a 400 degree oven for about 30 minutes until nice and crispy...
...flipping them about half way through.
